The past 48 hours in Colorado have been wonderfully turbulent. Unsettled weather patterns have etched spectacular danger into the skies above. Standing in awe before God’s ferocious display, sometimes it’s good to just let Him speak for Himself. This is what He’s been saying to me:
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Psalm 19:1 NASB
“O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!” Psalm 8:1
“Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth. For Your lovingkindness is great to the heavens And Your truth to the clouds. Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth. ” Psalm 57:5,10, 11
“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, ‘Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now gird up your loins like a man, and I will ask you, and you instruct Me! Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.” Job 38:1-4
“The clouds poured out water; The skies gave forth a sound; Your arrows flashed here and there. The sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.” Psalm 77:18
“Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, For my soul takes refuge in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge Until destruction passes by.” Psalm 57:1
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!’ For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.” Psalm 91:1-4
May you know the peace of God today no matter how ferocious the storms may be that are rumbling along the horizon of your life.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:1-3, 10
Peace, be still.
